Growing up in Granite Falls, North Carolina, Eric Church began his music career early. At the age of four he was already singing to waitresses and customers at a local restaurant and even making a little money from it. By the time Eric was thirteen, he had fine tuned his love for music and got into song writing and playing the guitar. Eric was greatly influenced by his parents and the different types of music they enjoyed and later found himself playing this kind of music. Although Eric was preoccupied with baseball, basketball, and golf in high school, he went back to his first love, music, once in college.

After several years of playing music and writing songs simply for enjoyment, Eric was tempted to make a career out of his hobby. When he saw a band making big tips after playing songs that he could play at a bar, Eric made the decision to take on music as a career. Joined with his roommate, brother, and friend, Eric made his first band, the Mountain Boys. He quickly got a gig and, despite their inexperience and the fact that they only prepared a dozen of songs, the Mountain Boys entertained the local crowd for four hours. Soon after, the boys played regionally, performing some of Eric’s original songs, most nights of the week.

After college, Eric moved to Nashville to move forward with his music career. Within a year, Eric was signed to ATV Tree Music Publishing as a song writer and began writing for country music artists like Terri Clark. When Eric was introduced to a producer at the company, they quickly began making demo songs and CDs. Soon, he was signed to Capitol Nashville and released his first single, “How ‘Bout You,” and then “Two Pink Lines.” Later, in 2006, his debut album, Sinners Like Me, was released.
