After more than fifteen years as a singer and songwriter, Alan Jackson is still a strong country musician. It only took him one year to begin the stream of No.1 hits and albums that continues today.

Alan was born on October 17, 1958 in Newman, Georgia. He began singing gospel both at church and at home when he was young and performed as one half of a country duo into his teenage years. Alan later married his high-school sweetheart, Denise. While Denise was an airline stewardess, Alan tried several different jobs, including a car salesman and construction worker, in addition to performing at clubs with his band, Dixie Steel.

Alan’s career took off when singer Glen Campbell was waiting for a flight and Denise gave him one of Alan’s demo tapes. After receiving contact information from Glen, Alan and Denise moved to Nashville. Alan took a year to improve his songwriting before he became an official staff writer for Glen’s company. After recording a new demo tape with songwriter and producer, Keith Stegall, Alan was signed to Arista in 1989, becoming their first country artist.

Alan released his platinum debut album, Here in the Real World, a year later with four Top Five hits including “Here in the Real World,” “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow,” “Wanted,” and “I’d Love You All Over Again.” The next year, Alan released Don’t Rock the Jukebox which garnered four more No.1 hits, “Don’t Rock the Jukebox “Someday,” “ Dallas,” and “Love’s Got a Hold on You,” and secured his spot on the country music scene. He also co-wrote a few songs with Randy Travis for his Travis’ High Lonesome album. In 1992, Alan’s A Lot About Livin’ (And a Little ‘Bout Love) release only increased his star status with more hits including “ Chattahoochee.”

For Christmastime in 1993, Alan released Honky Tonk Christmas. Following that album, Alan made Who I Am in 1994 which became a No.1 country album with four No.1 singles: “Gone Country,” “Livin’ on Love,” “Summertime Blues,” and “I Don’t Even Know Your Name.” After five years as a leading country artist, Alan released his Greatest Hits Collection album in 1995. Alan continued the stream of albums in 1996 with Everything I Love and more chart-topping hits, including “Little Bitty.” In 1998, with four more Top Ten singles, Alan’s High Mileage not only made it to No.1 on the country album charts, but it also ranked fourth on the pop charts.

The next year, Alan decided to acknowledge some of his favorite artists, Merle Haggard, Jimmy Buffet, and Hank Williams Jr., with his tribute album, Under the Influence. This album did not make it quite to the top of the charts but his next, When Somebody Loves You, shot right back up to No.1, along with his single, “Where I Come From.” After the tragedies of September 11, 2001, Alan’s single, “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning),” became a huge hit as it flew to the top of the charts and even made it to the Top 30 pop singles chart. Drive came out in 2002 as Alan’s seventh to reach the top of the charts and first to be a No.1 on the pop charts. It featured the song “Drive” that Alan dedicated to his late father, Gene. By 2003, Alan was able to release his Greatest Hits Collection Volume II.

To follow up his second greatest hits album, Alan released his next album, What I Do, in 2004. The album saw the release of the single, "Too Much of a Good Thing." Patty Loveless collaborated with Alan, by singing harmony, on another single from the album, "Monday Morning Church."

In 2006 Alan released a more personal album, Precious Memories. The album was a gospel tribute of timeless hymns from his youth, originally planned as a private Christmas gift to his mother. After production, the moving renditions of the classic songs evolved into the album, allowing Alan to share the heartfelt gift with his audience.

Like Red on a Rose, Alan's sixteenth album, was released in the fall of 2006. The sentimental title track of the album was the first single released, followed up with his current single of "A Woman's Love."

Alan teams up in 2007 with Brooks & Dunn, creating the ultimate country powerhouse pairing as the country artists prepare for their 2007 coast-to-coast co-headlining tour from May through October.
