On June 18, 1976, Blake Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma. Growing up, Blake liked to write and play country songs as well as work on his performing style. He often played honky-tonk bars and was even a regular on a local country music show. When songwriter, Mae Boren Axton returned to her hometown in Oklahoma for a tribute show, she met Blake who was a part of the lineup. With Mae’s advice, Blake planned to move to Nashville to pursue his career in music after he graduated high school in 1994.

Once in Nashville, Blake concentrated on song writing and found other hopeful songwriters to share ideas with. One of his friends advised him to meet with Bobby Braddock, the co-writer of “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” “Time Marches On,” and “D-I-V-O-R-C-E” and music producer. Blake ended up very successful with Braddock, who later became his producer with Warner Bros. Nashville.

Soon, Blake released his debut single, “Austin” from his self titled first album. The song hit No.1 and stayed at the top position for five weeks. This beat Billy Ray Cyrus’ record debut single of his song "Achy Breaky Heart." Blake also found success with his 2003 single, “The Baby” from his album, The Dreamer, which also reached the No.1 spot. Blake spent the rest of the year touring with Toby Keith and married his high school sweetheart. The two later divorced in 2006.

Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill was released the next year and harbored even more hits from Blake. “Some Beach,” “Goodbye Time,” and “Nobody But Me,” were some of Blakes more popular hits from the album. Blake's his third album, Pure BS, with the successful single, “Don’t Make Me,” was released in May of 2007
